Write for us
We welcome considered pitches and contributions about rural community life: the places people share, the customs they carry on, and the ways neighbours make local life together.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the subject, the central question and why it matters to readers beyond one narrow example. A strong proposal has a clear angle, a useful scope and a grounded sense of context. Explain what the piece will help a reader understand, and flag any claims that would need particular care or verification.
Contributions we welcome
We are interested in clear, original writing that explains a community practice, shared place, tradition or local institution without treating one account as universal. Pieces should be readable, specific and fair to the people and places they describe. We do not seek promotional copy presented as independent editorial work.
How to send a proposal
Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a note about the perspective you would bring. Please send a proposal rather than a complete unsolicited manuscript.
